Watersmeet

Watersmeet

Watersmeet is where the East Lyn and Hoar Oak Water meet, about 2.5 miles above Lynmouth. There is an original fishing lodge here, which was part of the Glenthorne estate. This is now owned by the National Trust and run as a cafe with outside seating overlooking the river. This area has some of the best walking on Exmoor, so this makes a perfect stop during a walk. It is quite common to see dippers and herons in the fast-flowing river.

Facilities: Toilets with baby-changing, cafe. The pay and display car park is an energetic walk from the road into the valley. There is no parking at Watersmeet itself.
