Bossington Bunkhouse opened in 2025 within Bossington Hall, a luxury B&B near Porlock. It offers five private rooms at walker-friendly prices — rooms are never shared with strangers, and linen and towels are included in the price.
The bunkhouse sits half a mile from the South West Coast Path and close to the Coleridge Way, making it an ideal base for walkers tackling the northern Exmoor section of both routes. It is perfectly placed for those starting the SWCP at Minehead, or for the demanding stretch between Porlock and Lynmouth — one of the hardest days on the entire 630-mile route. There is no hostel accommodation between here and Lynton, so this is a logical and well-placed stop.
Each room has access to a fully equipped self-catering kitchen with hob, microwave, fridge freezer and all crockery and cookware. The ground floor has a large lounge with Smart TV and a terrace with views over the Exmoor countryside. The licensed honesty shop stocks frozen pizzas and ready meals, cold beer, wine, soft drinks, and breakfast provisions — a help-yourself system with payment by QR code or bank transfer. Packed lunches can be pre-ordered at £4.50.
Rooms available: a kingsize, a single with en-suite shower, two twins and one accessible twin with adapted bathroom. The three ground floor rooms open in May 2026. Free parking, free WiFi, and the grounds and tennis court of Bossington Hall are free for all bunkhouse guests to use.
Single nights are welcome — unusual for this type of accommodation in the area. Prices from £47.50 per person per night based on two sharing.
