Chris and Lesley Allam look forward to welcoming you to The Denes! The Denes is an attractive Edwardian Guest House on the edge of town, the closest accommodation to the Valley of Rocks, yet only a few minutes’ walk to Lynton centre for cafes, restaurants, and shops.
The exterior exudes a unique style which matches the style of Lynton Town Hall, and many other buildings in Lynton. Once inside the Edwardian villa that is The Denes, you are greeted by period terracotta tiled flooring, stained glass and original woodwork.
Each guest room is tastefully decorated in its own distinctive style. All guest bedrooms retain their original fireplaces. You may also find a wooden bell push – however, they were disconnected some years ago!
At The Denes, the breakfasts get great reviews! All the food is locally sourced where possible. The butcher who supplies the breakfast bacon and sausages used to be the ‘village’ butcher for many years and the eggs are Free Range Devon eggs. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are available on request.
The picnic bench in the well-tended garden is available for guests to use if they fancy sitting outside. The Denes has facilities to store and dry boots and waterproof clothing.
The Denes is located across the road from the incredible views of the coast. You can walk up Snowball to Hollerday Hill (pictured). The Valley of Rocks at sunset is a must! You will be spoilt for choice with the variety of fabulous coastal walks that take you to dramatic cliffs, through coastal forest, along streams and past waterfalls.
