This beautiful, intimate 16th century coaching inn rests beside the River Exe in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. Steeped in history, the inn remains a truly special place which can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
Days and days of exploring await you, walk or ride over open moorland. Take an Exmoor safari viewing the wild red deer and Exmoor ponies. Twenty-eight en suite rooms with TV, direct dial telephones and tea and coffee makers.
Take your time and enjoy fantastic food, prepared with care, sourced from Exmoor and regional producers.
Make yourself at home in our cosy, comfy bar and enjoy some of our fine Malt Whisky’s – one of the largest selections in the South West – glowing behind the bar and relax by the roaring fire crackling whenever there’s a hint of a chill.
Dogs welcome. Photographic tours can be arranged, walking groups welcome. Fishing, shooting, mountain biking and horse riding can be arranged. Guided walks and safaris.
