Exmoor Day was full of excitement this year as locals and visitors joined in our annual Exmoor Day Treasure Hunt, following a trail of clues to uncover a hidden hamper packed with incredible local goodies from our member businesses! Despite the drizzle, spirits were high and the sense of adventure was unmistakable as treasure hunters followed along, piecing together clues and exploring our beautiful Exmoor countryside.
The Exmoor Day Treasure Hamper celebrated the very best of our region, with generous contributions.
Prizes included a cream tea for two at Withypool Tea Room, a first-class family ticket from Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, honey and entry from Quince Honey Farm, a handcrafted Exmoor Candle Tray from West Country Blacksmiths, a year’s subscription to Exmoor Magazine, a bottle of Wicked Wolf Gin, Miles Tea & Coffee treats, a Wellhayes Vineyard tour with wine and chocolates, an Exmoor Flag mug, and a selection of mini spirits from Exmoor Distillery.
After a morning of eager clue-solving, one lucky couple cracked the code and discovered that the secret location was none other than the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway. They were delighted to claim their hamper of Exmoor treasures, a fitting reward for their determination and local know-how!
The treasure hunt was a fantastic success, bringing together community spirit, local pride, and a shared love for Exmoor. A huge thank you to all the amazing businesses who donated prizes, and to everyone who joined in the fun online and in person.
Here’s to another year of adventure, generosity, and celebration across our wonderful National Park.
