You don’t need to stay overnight at our centre to get involved!
Our day activities are open to all, whether you’re visiting solo, with family or as part of a group. It’s a great way to get a taste of the Calvert Devon adventure; try something new, connect with others, and enjoy the outdoors in a fully supported and inclusive environment.
If you are based in North Devon, or simply visiting for the day, you can enjoy our wide range of accessible activities.
Abseiling, archery, canoeing, climbing, accessible cycling and more are all available to book on a day basis, with expert support and adaptations included as standard.

Horse-riding lessons at Calvert Devon Equestrian Centre
The equestrian team provide educational riding lessons, arena hire, and horse-based events for the general public while also caring for the wonderful horses, ponies, and donkeys that live on-site.

Come and join the Calvert Devon Equestrian Centre, where there’s a session ready and waiting for everyone; from newbies saddling up for the first time to past riders wanting to take the reins once again, to seasoned riders looking to hack.

Swimming in a private pool
The Calvert Devon swimming pool offers pre-booked hourly slots for swim sessions.
Our facilities offer a more private, intimate swim than other locations. We also welcome individuals with disabilities who are unable to use alternative pools in North Devon.
Families, care homes, groups, and schools from across North Devon enjoy our swimming pool every day. And you’re welcome to join them.

Location
We’re located near Blackmoor Gate, on the edge of Wistlandpound Reservoir. Just a short drive from Barnstaple, Lynton and Combe Martin. Everything is on site, nestled in the countryside, with rolling hills, forest and the reservoir on the doorstep. A visit for any reason can easily be paired with a walk around the water’s edge and through the trees, with plenty of picnic spots.
