Two 4*, stone cottages on tranquil farm near Wimbleball Lake – integrated kitchens, dog friendly gardens, spring fed lake. Exmoor National Park – Partner June 2015.
West Withy Farm Cottages nestle on a 23 acre farm on the eastern side of Exmoor, close to Dulverton and Dunster surrounded by open fields with views towards Haddon Hill.
Our spacious cottages converted from stone barns, combine original beams and thick stone walls with modern internal facilities. Each cottages has integrated kitchens with dishwasher under granite worktops, freestanding showers with separate baths, full central heating, double glazing and log burner. Each has private, enclosed gardens for dog, pet rabbit or even tortoise.
Our location is safe, tranquil and full of wildlife, attracted by our spring-fed lake which is home to geese, ducks and coarse fish. We generate our own electricity to help protect the environment. Our guests enjoy walking, cycling and horse riding, they fish on our own lake and at nearby Wimbleball Lake.
Our guests relax watching our wildlife – we have 15 pairs of swallows, kingfisher, buzzards, and almost numberless small birds nesting in our hedges. Our guests star gaze in the evening hiring a telescope available on the farm. More adventurous guests go geocaching and wild swimming. Our younger guests feed our geese and chickens, scratch pigs behind the ear, stroke our lambs, collect eggs and pick their own soft fruit / vegetables.
Our dog visitor’s holiday is full of the smells of rabbit and pheasant. Our guests shop at excellent local provision shops and butchers. A fresh fishmonger calls at the farm weekly. And most guests visit our wonderful local pubs and cream tea shops. A holiday for all ages at West Withy Farm.
