It’s not too soon to start thinking about the 2022/23 South West Tourism Awards (SWTA)! These annual awards celebrate the people and businesses behind the vast and successful, travel and tourism industry in the South West. To be eligible for the SWTA, you need to be in the running for the regionals – Bristol, Bath and Somerset and the Devon Tourism Awards are open for entry and businesses are invited to submit their entries ASAP.
Exmoor has so much to offer – glorious scenery, wonderful eateries, exceptional accommodation options, and a plethora of exhilarating and entertaining activities for all to enjoy. The awards aim to recognise the hard work, commitment, and dedication of businesses across the area.
The 2021/22 awards saw three Exmoor businesses walk away with some of the most prestigious prizes and we are so proud of all they have accomplished. Our local winners were:
Quince Honey Farm – Tourism Innovation Award (Gold)
As one of Devon’s unique attractions, Quince Honey Farm, offer nature trails to take in the local sights, honey factory tours, and opportunities to watch the production of honey in action!
The on-site, Nectary Restaurant also scooped up the Café/Tearoom of the Year award (Bronze) for their locally sourced and beautifully presented meals.
Their forward thinking approach to environmentalism and adaptability during recent years have given them a competitive edge as one of the leading attractions in Exmoor.

Exmoor Character Cottages – Resilience and Innovation Award (Silver)
Exmoor Character Cottages offer the perfect accommodation for countryside loving tourists. Their four indulgent, self-catering cottages have all of the creature comforts and more for guests to enjoy.
Their efforts in supporting their local community, their pragmatism during the pandemic and a wealth of happy guests leaving great reviews set them apart from their competition and saw them crowned victorious.

Dunkery Beacon Country House Hotel – Small Hotel of the Year Award (Bronze)
This quaint accommodation is a unique, luxury hotel situated in the heart of Exmoor. Their attentive service, well-presented rooms and gorgeous views were key factors in making Dunkery Beacon so deserving of commendation.
