Reflecting on a Remarkable Year in 2024!

As we step into the New Year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements, events, and milestones that made the past year unforgettable for Visit Exmoor and our community.

Networking and Collaboration
We kicked off English Tourism Week in style with the Visit Exmoor Networking Event and Leaflet Exchange at Knowle Manor. With special guest Robin Tjolle from Visit England, it was a day of inspiration and celebration. The turnout was fantastic, bringing together businesses, friends, and partners from near and far to celebrate everything that makes Exmoor extraordinary.

Celebrating Young Talent
We celebrated Exmoor’s culinary talent, shining a spotlight on the next generation of chefs who are putting local produce on the map. We congratulated Austin Nelder, the winner of the Young Chef Award!

New Members
We were thrilled to welcome new members to the Visit Exmoor family, so thank you! Each brings fresh energy and opportunities to showcase the very best of our region.

Adventures Await
The brilliant book 237 ideas of stuff to do and places to go in Somerset for kids, available on our website, helped (and continues to) inspire countless family adventures across Somerset and Exmoor. The perfect companion for explorers, it’s packed with ideas to keep everyone entertained in 2025.

Awards and Accolades
We were bursting with pride as Exmoor businesses shone on the regional and national stage:

  • Bristol, Bath, and Somerset Tourism Awards
  • Devon Tourism Awards
  • Visit England Excellence Awards

It was fantastic to see so many of our members receive the recognition they deserve.

Supporting Local Businesses
Our Exmoor Towns Campaign showcased the vibrant businesses that bring life to each of Exmoor’s towns, while our monthly contributions to Somerset Life ensured Exmoor remained front-of-mind for readers across the region.

A New Sponsorship Partnership
We proudly teamed up with NFU Mutual Williton & Rooksbridge in a new partnership to support our rural communities. Their commitment to championing Exmoor businesses perfectly aligns with our mission to nurture this unique corner of the world.

AND it was a Year of Special Celebrations

70 Years of Exmoor National Park
On Exmoor Day, we joined the 70th-anniversary celebrations of Exmoor becoming a National Park. From the grand opening of Great Bradley Bridge to events across the region, it was a fitting tribute to the place we call home.

Exmoor Dark Skies Festival
The Dark Skies Festival lit up Autumn with a packed programme of events, including new additions that thrilled both locals and visitors. The festival continues to highlight Exmoor as one of the best places in the UK to experience the magic of the night sky.

Somerset and Exmoor Coast Campaign
The “50 Ways to Enrich Your Life” campaign inspired people to explore the beauty of our coastline, connecting them with the natural wonders, wildlife, and history that make it so special.
