There are plenty of things to do near Oare, including exploring the nearby steep sided valley scenery, rich with wildlife and rushing moorland streams – an ideal spot to explore for walkers. The St. Mary’s Church in Oare dates back to the 14th century and has plenty of connections to the story of Lorna Doone – this is where Lorna was reputedly shot by the villainous Carver Doone during her wedding to John Ridd, the hero of the story.
Other nearby options include Moor Wild Experiences, Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, and Lynmouth National Park Centre.
