Heritage Bus Rides Across Exmoor

The Quantock Heritage Service is running one of its fabulous old buses along one of the most scenic roads in the country again this summer. Look out for the 300 Service from Minehead – Porlock – Lynmouth – and back again – running between 16th July – 7th Sept 2018, Monday – Friday.

Leaving from the West Somerset Railway Station in Minehead the bus makes it way through the beautiful Somerset countryside, past Selworthy and Allerford, into Exmoor National Park and on to the charming village of Porlock. Hold on tight for the exhilarating ride up Porlock Hill to reach the top with spectacular views right across the bay and out to sea.

Meandering over the high moors look out for wild Exmoor ponies grazing. Crossing County Gate from Somerset into Devon – but all in Exmoor – the beautiful coastline will be to one side of you and a patchwork of fields, deep green valleys and trees to the other. In August the hills will appear like a purple haze – covered with wild Exmoor heather.

Another breath-taking view and another spinetingling ride; this time downhill into the pretty harbour village of Lynmouth where you can spend a few hours pottering around the shops and cafes or take a further ride on the unique Cliff Railway up to Lynmouth to complete your experience.
