Take on the 2026 Exmoor Day Challenge: 25 ways to explore Exmoor

Each year on 19 October, Exmoor Day gives us a chance to celebrate everything that makes Exmoor special – from its dramatic natural landscapes and incredible wildlife to its towns and villages, local produce and rich heritage.

This year, we’re inviting you to join in with our brand-new Exmoor Day Challenge, designed to inspire you to get outside and discover more of what makes Exmoor such a special place. Think of it as your own Exmoor passport – download it, save it to your phone or print it out, then start planning your Exmoor adventure!

What is the Exmoor Day Challenge?

We’ve put together a list of 25 things to see, do and experience across Exmoor, giving you plenty of inspiration for getting out and explore the best of Exmoor over the weekend in the lead-up to Exmoor Day. Some of the challenges are simple things you can do while you’re out and about, while others might inspire you to visit somewhere new or try an experience you haven’t done before.

From exploring the natural landscape and spotting Exmoor wildlife to discovering local attractions, enjoying local produce and visiting somewhere new, there are lots of different ways to take part. There are also opportunities to support local businesses, with many Visit Exmoor members offering experiences that can help you tick items off your list.

You don’t have to complete all 25 – the challenge is simply about getting outside, exploring somewhere new and making the most of your time on Exmoor. Although, if you do manage to tick them all off, we’d love to hear about it!
