12may7:00 pmDark Skies Discovery Hub Eveningwith Wild About Exmoor

Event Details

Come stargazing at The Exford Bridge Tearooms. You will have a delicious, seasonal meal cooked by Bruce and Claire, with a fully licenced bar. Then the sociable part of our stargazing evening kicks off with a planetarium on their widescreen tv to show you around those clear Exmoor skies. Deeper sky objects are found and explored and then we head out to try out our newfound knowledge with Wild About Exmoor and our telescopes. An optional walk out into the dark skies area at a small extra cost will finish off the evening, weather and darkness permitting.

The Dark Skies Discover Hub Evenings are taking place on:

  • Thursday 24th March @ 6.00pm
  • Thursday 7th April @ 7.00pm
  • Thursday 12th May @ 7.00 pm and then EVERY Thursday going forwards from this date.

As a note, during Winter hours, and during the Exmoor National Parks Dark Skies Festival in October/November we start at 6.00pm, rather than 7.00pm. The Tearooms will be a wonderfully cosy place to spend an evening with a locally sourced  supper, our planetarium  presentation and an informal chat about the night skies….no question is a silly question! A walk in the winter is often fabulous – cold but crystal clear, the skies are dark enough to spot Andromeda, our neighbouring Galaxy, on a good night.
