Business Update – Somerset and Exmoor Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) Accreditation – Next Steps on our Collaborative Journey

We are excited to provide a business update on our positive progress in creating a Somerset and Exmoor Local Visitor Economy Partnership by Summer 2024.

In late February, working with partners we submitted a Somerset and Exmoor LVEP application to Visit England who have provided us with some positive feedback and additional direction on what we need to do to progress to becoming an Somerset and Exmoor LVEP, including the necessary steps we will have to undertake to become accredited by Summer 2024.

Over the next few months we will work with you, and our wider stakeholders to put plans in place to create a resilient and sustainable partnership that will serve as the strategic body representing you and the wider visitor economy in our region for Somerset and Exmoor.  The objective is to form a collaborative and strategic partnership with Somerset Council, Exmoor National Park Authority, Visit Somerset, and Visit Exmoor, as well as many other partners across the area.

Our combined resources signify a shared dedication to a prosperous visitor economy for our area. The importance of our collective effort is profound and as we progress through these next essential stages, we will keep our stakeholders up-to-date and eagerly anticipate gathering everyone (virtually or face-to-face) as we cement our plans.

Thanks to all our friends, partners and stakeholders, your continued support is the keystone of our journey towards a successful accreditation.  Especial thanks to the Heart of the South West LEP, especially Vince Flower, to Robin Tjolle at Visit England and to Tomorrow Tourism and Maureen Macallister for your ongoing support.

Yesterday also saw the announcement by Visit England of the announcement of a Devon and Partners LVEP accreditation.  We convey our sincere congratulations to our friends and peers in Devon for securing their LVEP accreditation and look forward to working with the Devon and Partners LVEP. Their achievement is a reflection of the communal endeavour and commitment to the Visitor Economy within our region, paving the way for our future strategic collaboration.
