There is something for everyone along the breath-taking Exmoor coastline! From sandy beaches, such as Combe Martin in the east of Exmoor and Minehead in the west, to the rocky beaches of Heddon Valley and Lynmouth.
West of Minehead you’ll find Porlock Weir and Porlock Marsh with salt marshes protected by a long shingle ridge. To the east of the town go fossil hunting at Kilve beach, an important geological site.
Exmoor has some impressive, notable coastal elevations along it’s 59 km (37 mile) coastline. It has the highest coastline in England and Wales with a heady 433m (1421ft) at Culbone Hill and the highest sea cliff with Great Hangman at 1,044 feet (318 m) high with a cliff face of 800 feet (244 m).
