Walkers will be pleased to hear that Malmsmead is the gateway to the Doone Valley which is full of twisting trails to explore on foot and features some of the best views of Exmoor. This area of valleys and moorland were made famous by RD Blackmore’s novel ‘Lorna Doone’, and there are plenty of nearby spots to explore with connections to the novel, including the medieval village at Hoccombe Combe and the water slide at Lank Combe. Other nearby options include Moor Wild Experiences, and Lynmouth National Park Centre.
