A Peaceful, Award-Winning, Boutique Country House Hotel Set In Three Acres of Beautiful Gardens On The Exmoor Coast.
Our stylish, award winning, boutique country house hotel is close to the stunning Exmoor coast in North Devon and offers delicious food and sumptuous accommodation in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Now in our 11th year here, we’re thrilled to have been included in the Top 25 Hotels for Romance in the World in the 2018 Travellers’ Choice Awards from Tripadvisor. We are even more delighted that our guests – both new and returning – seem to agree.
Come and visit and you’ll find we don’t fuss, we just do the simple things really well; a warm friendly welcome, great local food, a great value wine list, thoughtful service and stylish luxury rooms
Idyllically situated within Exmoor National Park, The Old Rectory is surrounded by National Trust land. We are only 500 yards from the coastal path with majestic views of the highest hog-backed cliffs in Britain.
There are many delightful walks to local beauty spots including Woody Bay and Heddon’s Mouth. You can also visit the Valley of the Rocks, Watersmeet and the unique cliff railway from Lynton to Lynmouth, with its picturesque harbour.
The Old Rectory Hotel is a true haven in which to unwind and escape from day-to-day life. We have no crowds and no traffic to disturb the peace; just birdsong and jaw dropping scenery, and we’re close to the South West Coast path too. If you’re looking for somewhere to relax and soothe the mind you really couldn’t choose a better place.
We delight in creating exciting cuisine which utilises the very best that the stunning Exmoor landscape offers. We buy local produce, meat and fish from local day boats which is always fresh, of the highest quality and very low in food miles. We have an expanding kitchen garden in which we grow herbs, salads and our own vegetables.
We always ensure that we offer a good selection of fresh North Coast fish and seafood, trying to ensure that the species we use are not from threatened or depleted fish stocks.
