About

A unique  off – grid base for exploring the wilds of Exmoor. Powered by the wind and Sun and heated by sustainable wood fuel.

Pinkery is an outdoor learning centre that’s not just for schools.

Pinkery is in an idyllic setting in Exmoor National Park surrounded by open moorland, where you can be inspired by the landscape around you.  A former upland farm in the heart of what was the Royal Hunting Forest of Exmoor, Pinkery is now a 9-bedroomed residential centre that is perfect as a base for exploring, conferences, family gathering or for an organised group stay.

Pinkery is so remote that it is “off-grid” and has its own wind turbine and solar panels (backed up with a generator) and the heating is run off a Biomass Boiler, so you really do get a sense of getting away from it all. We are using only carbon neutral, renewable technology where we can, to maintain and run the centre so it is perfect for groups conscious of their environmental impact and for eco-friendly, sustainable weekend escapes, family gatherings or as a conference venue.

Coming to Pinkery is all about the outdoors.  Use the building as a base but get out there and enjoy Exmoor. This is about stepping out the door and feeling that immediate boost to your health and wellbeing.  No crowds, probably no other people, just space, fresh air and inspiring landscapes. With flexible accommodation and a wide range of facilities, a stay in Pinkery is an experience not to be forgotten. A short walk will take you up past the famous Pinkery Pond up onto the open moor with its Bronze Age barrows, wild red deer and wide-open spaces.

You have the building to yourselves and no neighbours, but we will be at the end of the phone if you need us.
