As the season changes, Exmoor puts on a spectacular show! In the Autumn, the moor becomes a riot of colour, with the heather a carpet of purple and the gorse blooming bright yellow. Experience the Autumn Wildlife

Visit Exmoors' Historic Attractions
The famous
Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway opened in 1890 and is the highest and the steepest totally water powered railway in the world! The funicular Cliff Railway connects the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth providing stunning coastal views. This working heritage railway is grade II listed, the UK's only fully water powered railway and one of just three examples left in the World!

Enjoy Beautiful Autumn Colours
Many of Exmoor's trees save their best show for Autumn, displaying a vibrant palette of browns, oranges and golds. Walk up the East Lyn River to Watersmeet or climb to the top of the glorious Dunkery Beacon and you'll feel an overwhelming sense of wellbeing - in a Forestry Commission England survey, 96% of people said that beautiful Autumn colours had the power to lift their mood.
