Selworthy

Welcome to Selworthy

A delightful village of picturesque thatched cottages.

Selworthy lies 3 and a half miles west of Minehead just of the A39 between Minehead and Porlock  which includes the hamlets of Allerford, Bossington and Tivington.

This delightful village of picturesque thatched cottages and its historic All Saints white church perched on the side of the hill with sweeping views over the vale of Porlock to the moors beyond is unique, and is part of the National Trusts Holnicote Estate of over 12,000 acres of Exmoor coast and countryside.

The village has wonderful walking and wildlife. There are several footpaths from the village up to Selworthy Beacon. Exmoor ponies graze on the landscape and the views are even more extensive over the sea to Wales in one direction and Dunkery Beacon and the heather moors in the other with Minehead  towards the east.

Pop in for some light refreshments at the pretty Periwinkle tea rooms!
