Marketing and PR Coordinator
Starting at 15 hours a week with potential to increase to 21 hours a week.
Salary up to £22,937 Per Annum (full time calculation), £9174 Per Annum (pro-rated for 15 hours per week).
Based from Exmoor National Park offices in Dulverton with some mobile working and meeting attendance across Exmoor and with potential for some home working.
Visit Exmoor is the tourism arm for Exmoor, with a clear mission to promote Exmoor as a tourist destination to the benefit of our members.
This role will be at the heart of Visit Exmoor's Marketing and PR activities and this a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and growing team at Visit Exmoor.
The Marketing and PR Coordinator will be responsible for:
Responding to all press enquiries and proactively working with press contacts.
Issuing press releases and proposing future press visits and articles aligned to Visit Exmoor's current themes and focus areas.
Arranging requested press visits to and co-ordinating Visit Exmoor's presence at promotional events:
Proactively structuring press visit agendas that show Exmoor at it's very best.
Prioritising effort on Press Events and activities that will deliver most return against Visit Exmoor's Vision, Mission and objectives.
Working with the Visit Exmoor Membership Liaison manager to ensure Visit Exmoor members benefit from the opportunity to be part of these press activities.
Work with partners and other tourism authorities to engage and understand wider promotional activities to the benefit of Exmoor promotion.
Co-ordinating external marketing campaigns and advertising campaigns aligned to Visit Exmoor's strategy, themes and key focus areas.
Taking responsibility for curating and developing Visit Exmoor’s online image library.
Working with partners and other tourism authorities to engage on joint campaigns.
Curating Social Media marketing and PR through Visit Exmoor's current chosen channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram:
Proactively engaging with Visit Exmoor’s audience on a regular basis through social media channels
Driving planned and scheduled campaigns through Social Media channels.
Tracking and reporting the results of these activities.
Member communications, PR and Marketing:
Working with the Membership Liaison Manager to ensure that Social Media and Membership email channels are used to underline and promote the PR successes of Visit Exmoor to it's members.
Ensuring the Membership Liaison Manager is aware of all upcoming press activities and able to communicate upcoming PR opportunities in a timely manner.
There is a weekly team meeting and attendance at this is mandatory.
This role requires a motivated, self-starter, able to engage well as part of a small part team, who can take direction and input, prioritise tasks and to then take ownership to run with initiatives.
A knowledge of Exmoor and passion for the area is essential.
The role requires the ability to report clearly on status, progress and challenges (on a weekly basis), who knows when to ask for support in resolving issues and who can priorities workload against Visit Exmoor's objectives.
The role requires an individual who can provide structured and meaningful reporting against campaigns and initiatives.
Relevant marketing and PR experience is important and to find the right person for the role we will would be keen to consider applicants with similar experience from other industries.
Experience of managing marketing and PR through social media channels is also essential.
