Visit Exmoor Business Networking Day – a Great Success
Over a hundred businesses attended the Visit Exmoor Business Networking Day in Porlock last week creating a lively and commercially successful event for all those involved.
Informative presentations from Exmoor National Park, Hinkley Tourism Action Partnership and the South West Coast Path followed an introduction and address from new Visit Exmoor Chairman Richard Havers.
Richard, who was appointed Chairman late last year had this message “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts and that is what’s key to our future success. Working together across all sectors of the tourism industry, whether it be accommodation providers, restaurants, cafes, visitor attractions, shops or farmers’ markets, is what will help Visit Exmoor do a better job and to grow. More members will benefit every organization involved in helping to promote Exmoor one of the most attractive places to visit in Britain.“
Porlock Village Hall provided a light and welcoming venue and a delicious buffet lunch was served by local caterer Jane Middleton from Home Cook Café in Porlock and Porlock Weir. Complimentary tea and coffee was most generously provided by Miles Tea and Coffee.
The oversubscribed Exmoor Leaflet Exchange saw more than 30 businesses distributing leaflets and information on the forthcoming season.
“We were delighted with the response,” said Development Manager Jennette Baxter. “There was a very positive vibe and it's a great start to what looks like a promising season.”
