Wild About Exmoor
Guided walks, with a twist!
At Wildaboutexmoor we lead guided walks for groups or individuals, to experience the very best of Exmoor National Park, and explore the parts that otherwise you would probably not experience in quite the same way!
We run various events throughout the year, exploring the length and breadth of Exmoor, but can also provide a walk geared just to you and your group…whenever and wherever you would like to go, just get in touch, and we will put some suggestions together.
The Lorna Doone Experience
Literary Footsteps - Exmoor’s wonderful scenery and fascinating history has inspired poets and writers across the world.
R.D.Blackmore wrote his epic novel Lorna Doone based on folklore and tales from his childhood. The novel is set amongst the farms and countryside of the Doone Valley, Dulverton and Exford….our home and favourite walking area. We have created a special, full day itinerary for the National Park Experience Collection.
The twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth have a rich and fascinating history. They are also a fine example of Victorian philanthropy, with great architecture largely paid for by Sir George Newnes, making for a very attractive stroll around this historic area.
We start our tour in Lynmouth at the scene on the disastrous flood in 1952, and ascend to Lynton with a ride on the unique water powered cliff railway (February to November) A spectacular cliff top walk with views to the Welsh coast brings us to “Little Switzerland” and the valley of the Rocks.
