In the heart of the beautiful Exmoor town of Dulverton lies The Tantivy, a traditional, family-run Shop, Coffee/Tea Shop and Deli, steeped in the heritage of this gateway to Exmoor National Park.
The large shop offers a range of gifts, deli items and now a range of luxury frozen meals prepared within Dulverton by the renowned Croft & Cottage. We also now stock an extensive range of delicious infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars which we fill in store and can be refilled when used.
The shop has an expanding range of high-quality delicatessen products. We stock local cheese such as Somerset Brie, Cheddar and Blue as well as the award-winning Chunks Pies which includes options for Vegans. Our Preserves and Honey ranges are all locally sourced and includes the famous Whortleberry Jam, West Country Cider Chutney all made by Brendon Hills preserves. We always have west country honey in stock and when available we sell Dulvertons’ very own. New in this year is our range of infused Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars – we have twelve delicious flavours which are decanted to order, and the bottles can be brought back to re-fill. Check out the large Amphora bottle labels in store to see the brilliant ideas for using these versatile products – they’re not just for dipping and are a must have for any budding home cook! We scoop ice-cream as well, using the creamy, decadent and very local Styles Ice-cream. We have an array of flavours that can always be topped off with clotted cream as well as tubs to take home. Why not try an Ewes milk ice-cream – they are lower in fat, but you would never know!
In our treasure trove of gift and homewares you will find something for everyone whether it be more traditional or something new. We are proud to stock the beautiful Wrendale design range as well the highly collectable Emma Bridgewater and the very fine Dunoon British China. Beautiful scarves, scented candles and a trendy storage tin or two are all there for you to browse.
In the shop as well as the news agency, extensive confectionary ranges and Styles ice-cream by the scoop, there is a wonderful array of high-quality products and gifts, many local and include Wines, Local Ciders, Exmoor Ales, Exmoor Gins, Local Preserves, Local Honey, Fudge, Biscuits, Traditional sweet jars, soft drinks, Local books, OS Maps, walking guides, a huge card and gift wrap range and an array of luxury gifts, including Wrendale, Portmeirion and Emma Bridgewater.
The Coffee Shop offers year-round Barista Coffees, speciality teas and a menu offering quality, locally sourced ingredients. Along with the delightful outdoor courtyard area, there are ample, relaxed indoor seating areas for everyone to enjoy our simple but delicious menu.
The shop was established around 1939 and is currently owned and run by Dave and Greg who bought the shop in January 2018. They are often asked what Tantivy means and the most consistent answer is, ‘a fast gallop as part of the hunt’.
Dave and Greg and the whole Tantivy team look forward to welcoming you to our Shop, Coffee Shop and deli.
