In the heart of the beautiful Exmoor town of Dulverton lies The Tantivy, a traditional, family-run Shop, Coffee/Tea Shop and Deli, steeped in the heritage of this gateway to Exmoor National Park.
The Coffee Shop offers year-round Barista Coffees, speciality teas and a menu offering quality, locally sourced ingredients. Along with the delightful outdoor courtyard area, there are ample, relaxed indoor seating areas for everyone to enjoy our simple but delicious menu.
Our beautiful café offers a friendly, relaxed break from the day. Firstly, our freshly ground single origin Coffee is superb and perfect as that americano, cappuccino or latte. We also we have a fine selection of teas to choose from but you may just fancy a good, strong builders tea in a mug. We offer simple, delicious local food made fresh to order This includes, a ‘hearty breakfast selection’ to start your day off well, a ‘just what you needed for lunch’ and a totally earned slice of home-made cake, flapjack slab, or a selection of homemade scones and cream teas – being Somerset cream first, jam first – who cares - have it your way!
In the shop as well as the news agency, extensive confectionary ranges and Styles ice-cream by the scoop, there is a wonderful array of high-quality products and gifts, many local and include Wines, Local Ciders, Exmoor Ales, Exmoor Gins, Local Preserves, Local Honey, Fudge, Biscuits, Traditional sweet jars, soft drinks, Local books, OS Maps, walking guides, a huge card and gift wrap range and an array of luxury gifts, including Wrendale, Portmeirion and Emma Bridgewater.
The large shop offers a range of gifts, deli items and now a range of luxury frozen meals prepared within Dulverton by the renowned Croft & Cottage. We also now stock an extensive range of delicious infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars which we fill in store and can be refilled when used.
The shop was established around 1939 and is currently owned and run by Dave and Greg who bought the shop in January 2018. They are often asked what Tantivy means and the most consistent answer is, ‘a fast gallop as part of the hunt’.
