The Old Priory, a 12th century Benedictine House is part of a historic collection of buildings comprising The Church, Dovecote and TitheBarn located between the two stone archways of Priory Green. This quiet road runs north of St George's Church and stands in a traditional walled garden which includes espaliered fruit trees and a small Knot-Garden. A private gateway leads into the church garden.
We have been restoring and repairing this historic building as authentically as possible for over 30 years. This is no contemporay makeover - however we do have central heating and lots of hot water!
For those interested in staying in a fascinating old building, either as BB guests or in the SC Cottage, the Old Priory is very special. High standards of old-fashioned hospitality, lovely organic breakfasts and an informal atmosphere prevail.
The BB is unsuitable for children and, sadly, no pets.
