Dark Skies Festival 2019

Exmoor National Park is home to some of the darkest skies in the country so it is a great place for stargazing.

Monday 14th October to Sunday 3rd November 2019

Exmoor National Park Authority is delighted to bring you our third Dark Skies Festival. This year, the festival has expanded to three weeks and we have events all over Exmoor being hosted by ourselves, other organisations and local businesses.

We are very proud to have been designated as Europe’s first International Dark Sky Reserve and we are continually striving to protect our dark skies by working with residents and communities to minimise light pollution.

All bookings should be made with the relevant organiser - some events are run by Exmoor national Park, others by other groups or businesses.  There will be events taking place at venues all over Exmoor, from stargazing talks and sessions to night time adventures so we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy some of the darkest skies in the country.

Exmoor and the Quantock Hills are great places to visit all year round and there are events to enjoy whatever the weather. There are a number of annual festivals, plus numerous village fetes, concerts and sporting events. Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills both provide guided walks throughout the year.
