Tucked away in the picturesque village of Allerford, Cross Lane House is perfectly located to explore Exmoor and the South West Coast Path!

Cross Lane House is a beautiful Grade II listed, character building, located on the stunning 12,000 acre National Trust Holnicote Estate in West Somerset. 

The area boosts breathtaking landscapes and a vast stretch of uncrowded coastline. Its a wonderful place to walk with Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's highest point, nearby. Plus, the fabulous Selworthy Beacon is easily accessible from Allerford. Bossington beach is a pretty pebble beach backed by a unique marshland eco system, where you can spot rare birds and insects. 

The area is also great for cycling, horse riding, water sports and so much more. Its an area that just keeps giving and all year round! 

Beautiful Rooms
Cross Lane House boosts three en-suite bedrooms which have been individually and lovingly designed with your comfort in mind. Two of these rooms are dog friendly with one small to medium size dog per room, please call to discuss - prior to booking - should you wish to bring a second dog.  
The Pluck Room: the largest room which is located in the East Wing of Cross Lane House. A spacious room with walk-in shower and comfy sofas to curl up and relax on. Dog friendly. 
The Fry Room: located in the West Wing of Cross Lane. Is a lovely space with its unique and original beam features on show. Dog friendly. 
Court Room: located in the East Wing of Cross Lane House. A cosy room which features a simple set up, covering all you  need and more for a comfortable stay. 
Breakfast at Cross Lane House will get you off to a hearty start! Fresh fruit, homemade granola and a cooked breakfast using locally sourced ingredients will set you up for a day of exploring. Little Oak Farm specialises in Middle White Pork, they are a preferred supplier for breakfast sausages & bacon rashes! They are only located a 15 minute drive away and have recently won GOLD in the Taste of the West Awards 2020. 
Cosy Bar & Restaurant
Although small in size, the bar is big in West Country character! Serving local spirits such as Wicked Wolf Gin, Exmoor Ales and local craft somerset Cider. There is also a carefully selected wine list, so something for everyone! The cosy Bar and Lounge is the perfect setting for drinks and something to eat. 
Restaurant coming soon! The vision for the restaurant is to strive to achieve a 30-mile menu offering, where all produce is sourced within that distance, or grown on site in the Cross Lane House kitchen garden (currently being establishing!). More details to come!
