We have lots of fabulous restaurants, pubs, cafes and tea rooms across Exmoor, West Somerset and the Quantocks to enjoy! 

All have been working really hard adapting their services to ensure they are covid-19 compliant, and they have processes in place for customer and staff safetly. We recommend checking ahead and making reservations in advance, many eateries have reduced capacity and must be booked ahead. You can find contact information for various places to eat on our Eating Out pages. 

For restaurants, we recommmend phoning ahead or booking online, ensuring you have reserved your table. Some hotel restaurants are open to non-residents, some are not, please phone ahead to find out the details. 

This page highlights all takeaway businesses operating in the area plus cafes and tea rooms operating a takeaway service. We have also highlighted retailers where you can pick up local foods. This page is regularly updated but do check business opening hours ahead. 


Kitnors Tea Room and Garden


The beautiful Kitnors Tea Room and Gardens at Bossington are open. They are serving a limited menu. Seating is available in the garden with a strict one way system in place for ordering. Takeaway service is also available. They are open 11am to 4pm Thursday to Monday. Keep up to date with all the details via their Facebook.

Ziangs At The Weir

Ziangs Takeaway

Pop in and pick up a fabulous Chinese takeaway from Ziangs At The Weir located at Porlock Weir. Using fresh ingredients and the highest quality spices, you'll be in for a treat with their fantastic takeaway offering. They are open Tuesday to Saturday 12.00 until 6.00 and Sunday 12.00 until 5.00. Perfect for a lunchtime or early evening meal. Withypool Tea Room

Withypool Tea Room

The Tearooms offer a fantastic choice of home made cakes, freshly filled baguettes, local pasties and sausages rolls, daily specials and other light refreshments and of course ‘the traditional Cream Tea’. Stuart Lowen Quality Butchers

Stuart Lowen

Stuart Lowen Quality Butcher and Farm Shop is a family-run business in Minehead. They supply quality meat and produce, always sourced as locally as possible. The shop is now open (please see safely procedures on link below) and are offering pre-ordered shop collections.

The shops opening hours are 8.30 am until 4 pm. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. For more information on collections, deliveries and instore shop safely information, please see the latest updates on their website.

The Tanvity Exmoor


The Tanvity Exmoor, based in Dulverton is open from 6.30 a.m. and stocks lots of daily essentials including canned goods, baking ingredients, loo roll and sanitising wipes.The deli range has been extended to include more cured meats, cheeses and local smoked fish. Croft and Cottage


Staying in self-catering accommodation and fancy a home cooked meal? Croft and Cottage supply their delicious frozen meals across the area. You can order direct or please your order with The Tanvity, when you are stocking up on your groceries in the shop. They will deliver within 20 miles of Dulverton, if you are a little outside of this they will always try and help. Withypool Village Shop


Withypool Village Shop is open Monday to Saturday 8.30 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. and Sunday 9.00 a.m. - 12 noon. The shop stock bread, milk, meats, fruit and vegetables as well as other grocery items. Only 2 people are allowed in the shop at any one time. Orders can be placed with them 24 hours in advance by telephone or email. Dunster Castle


The garden, parkland, car park and toilets at Dunster Castle have re-opened. You’ll need to book your tickets by 3pm the day before your visit. Tickets are released every Friday. The Tenant's Hall pop-up café is open daily (ticket holders only), 10am-4pm, serving a limited range of takeaway hot and cold drinks and some light snacks. Quince Honey Farm

Quince Honey Farm

The Nectar Gardens and Pollinator Path which are full of bees and loads of wildlife are now open along with the Quince Honey Farm shop and restaurant where you can sample their famous breakfast, amazing honey cream teas & yummy cakes. Watersmeet Tea Room


The National Trust Watersmeet Tea Room is open for takeaway hot drinks and cakes. Online card payments will be accepted. There inside and garden spaces are not yet open. They recommend heading to a quiet spot by the river so that you can maintain social distancing. For information updates please see their website.
