Whilst celebrating English Tourism Week (14-22 March 2015) Exmoor National Park Authority has launched a brand new National Park Partner scheme to reward and recognise those businesses and organisations that are working with the National Park at heart.
If you’re planning a holiday then look out for the new partners – more are joining the scheme each week and you know that these businesses are committed not only to looking after our beautiful National Park but also helping you to enjoy and understand it!
Applicants are asked to demonstrate how they’re committed to contributing to five key themes:
- Supporting a thriving living landscape
- Connecting people and place
- Working towards a sustainable future
- Working together for Exmoor
- Communicating the message
“We see this as being a mutually beneficial partnership between ourselves and local businesses.” Commented Dan James, Exmoor National Park’s Sustainable Economy Manager. “There is a collective responsibility for us to work together for the good of Exmoor and in particular looking after this fantastic place which attracts two million visitor days a year. Tourism is the largest sector of the rural economy and research shows over 95% of visitors are attracted by the landscape.”
