The Riding Playground of England
Sometimes referred to as “The Riding Playground of England” Exmoor welcomes every sort of horse rider. If you are a novice you can try one of the many riding stables in the area. They’ll show you the ropes and take you for a gentle trek, maybe along the banks of a river, through ancient wooded forests or peaceful valleys. If you require a more hardcore equestrian experience you can saddle up and head over the open moors for an exhilarating gallop through the heather. There are over 300 miles of varied and challenging bridleways in the National Park, and the newly opened Coleridge Bridleway links Exmoor to the Quantocks via Exford to Nether Stowey, along 33 miles of stunning scenery.
