Therapeutic days out for autistic children and vulnerable adults.
We are nestled on the edge of Exmoor National Park and have 130 acres of organic grassland and a wildlife corridor throughout the farm teeming with buzzards, wild orchids, waterfalls, trees and wild animals.
We offer therapeutic days out for autistic children and vulnerable adults for both health and wellbeing and for mental health. We can offer animal husbandry, animal therapy, close and personal contact with the animals.
Gardening skills with our own poly tunnel to grow your veg and then get to cook and eat them alongside our wood fired pizza oven. We can offer bush craft and the great outdoors skills such as fencing, tree maintenance with our very own apple orchard. Specialist projects working with motor bikes and tractors tailored to individual needs. Picnics and over night camping watching the stars in the dark skies of Exmoor.
The Wrights Care Farm Project also run Furze Park Camping, Kentisbury offering wild camping pitches. As this is wild camping, facilities on site are fairly simple, stretching just to basic toilet facilities, running water and picnic tables. At weekends, the 16th-century barn opens up to serve wood-fired pizzas and full English breakfasts (which you’ll need to order in advance). There’s a local pub five minutes’ drive away for family meals and takeaways.
Life skills, bread making, cheese making, pottery classes, art work can all be arranged in our welcome area barn where we have our meet and greet area, kitchen and refreshments.
We will also have a sensory garden with our own unique unicorn and willow dome. Countryside walks, nature trails where you can take the ponies for a walk. Collect the eggs from the chickens, make your own omelettes and take some home.
