An early 19thC coaching inn situated at the main crossroads in the village of Wheddon Cross, in the heart of Exmoor National Park.

This small, cosy Inn with its log fires in winter, has five en suite bedrooms (showers), all fully equipped.

Our home cooked meals are available in the restaurant or the bar and are prepared using local produce whenever possible. Great care and attention is taken in the cooking and presentation of each dish. Vegetarian dishes are always available, and any special dietary requests can be accommodated with prior notice.

The Rest and Be Thankful Inn is ideally situated for visiting many attractions, such as Dunster, with its medieval castle and Yarn market and Selworthy National Trust village. The real pleasure is Exmoor itself with its varied wildlife, especially the Exmoor ponies and red deer. The vast expanse of heather clad moorland offers breathtaking views of the countryside and coastline. The hidden valleys with their timeless villages all go to make Exmoor the perfect place to escape. For the more active visitor a choice of fishing, sailing, riding, golf, canoeing, cycling and guided walks are available.

M5 Jcn 25 follow A358 signposted Minehead. After approximately 7 miles,turn left and proceed under railway bridge signposted Wheddon Cross. Continue until the junction on the right signposted Wheddon Cross B3224 (small church at junction). Continue until next main crossroads. The Rest and Be Thankful Inn is on the corner. Car park at rear.
