The Kingsway

The Kingsway Hotel is an elegant building with a pleasant garden and lawns. It is situated in a quiet leafy residential area, only a short, level stroll to the seafront and town centre.

The property is decorated and furnished throughout to a very high standard. You will receive a warm welcome from the resident proprietors, Diane and Joe Erfurt, who will do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, in the hope that like so many other guests, you will want to come and stay again.

For the added comfort, health and safety of our guests we have a non-smoking policy throughout the hotel.

We serve your hearty Full English Breakfast in our spacious Dining Room, where later in the day we serve a delicious optional Evening Meal. We take great pride in our excellent home cooked cuisine. All meals are prepared on the premises using fresh local produce whenever possible. We are happy to cater for special diets, subject to prior notice.

We have a large and very comfortable Resident's Lounge where guests are invited to unwind at the end of the day after your evening meal. The lounge also offers remote-controlled Colour Television, a small library of books and a selection of board games.

We have beautiful Double, Family and Twin bedrooms, all with En-Suite Facilities. Our Bedrooms have all been individually furnished to give them their own character. Each room has many refinements including Romote-Controlled Colour Television, generous Courtesy Tray with beverage making facilities, complimantary toiletries, a hair dryer, shaver point, trouser press and clock radio.

Every bedroom also has its own individually controlled Heating System and most bedrooms have Scenic Views over the lovely surrounding Somerset Countryside. For that special occasion we can have Flowers, and in your room for your arrival, for just a small extra charge.

The Kingsway Hotel is an ideal base, from which to visit the many places of historic interest and outstanding natural beauty which abound in this truly unspoilt part of the West Country. Minehead itself is proud to be host to The West Somerset Steam Railway. Close at hand you will also find the quaint and pretty medieval village of Dunster with Castle, working water mill and yarn market.

Local places of interest include Lynmouth and Lynton and Exmoor National Park, where the modern world seems so far away and time just stands still, numerous National Trust properties and gardens as well as the opportunity to view wildlife or enjoy horse riding, golf and fishing. The choice really is endless with something of interest for all age groups.

Adequate parking available. Sorry, no pets. Iron and ironing board available on request. We are happy to collect guests arriving at the local bus station - subject to prior notice. Open al year (except January).

Road Directions

Take A358 to Williton (17 miles); at Williton turn left at mini-roundabout on to the A39 road to Minehead; go straight across the Seaward Way roundabout into Alcombe, and then along Bircham Road and pedestrian traffic lights; at next roundabout fork right into Alcombe Road; after 300 yards take 2nd on the right into Ponsford Road. Kingsway Hotel is located 200 yards on the left-hand side.

Public Transport Directions

From Taunton - 25 miles
Bus stop immediately outside of station, running a service to Minehead; disembark at Alcombe and we are able to collect guests and transport to the hotel.
