CAMRA Real Ale Festival

None

It is a showcase for some of the finest traditional cask-conditioned ales brewed in Britain. Many are drawn from the award winning breweries of Somerset which include Berrow (www.siba-southwest.co.uk/breweries/berrow), Butcombe (www.butcombe.com), Cotleigh (www.cotleighbrewery.com), Cottage (www.cottagebrewing.com), Dunkery (www.dunkeryales.co.uk), Exmoor (www.exmoorales.co.uk), Moor (www.moorbeer.co.uk), Newmans (www.newmansbrewery.com), Odcombe (www.quaffale.org.uk/php/brewery/1175), RCH (www.rchbrewery.com), Stowey (www.theoldciderhouse.co.uk) and Yeovil (www.yeovilales.com). Their products are a treat in themselves but to cover styles that they do not produce “guests” from other British brewers are also on sale. So expect fruit beers, milds both dark and light stouts, porters and even proper lagers to be available plus the ranges from our local brewers (see their websites for their ranges). With up to 90 ales available the amazing range of traditional beer can be found in all its glory.

Food is available and you can expect live entertainment on Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime. Usual opening hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 12 midday to 4 p.m. on the Sunday. The West Somerset Railway runs Saturday evening diesel trains and there is a pre-bookable bus link on Saturday evening between Taunton and Bishops Lydeard.

More details will appear on this site as they become available but this is a very popular event and if you are coming from afar booking your accommodation in advance is recommended.
