Packhorse bridge at Winsford, Exmoor

Lying in a valley to the north of Dulverton, Winsford is one of Exmoor's most attractive villages with no less than eight bridges crossing the many small streams. Close to the centre of the village is the cottage where Ernest Bevin, the famous Labour Foreign Secretary, was born in 1881. A pub and tea shop provide excellent refreshments. Winsford Hill is an excellent place for spotting Exmoor ponies.
