Monksilver, on the edge of Exmoor National Park

Nestling in the Brendon Hills, on the boundary of Exmoor National Park, is the village of Monksilver. Its name is derived from the Latio silva, meaning woodland i.e. Monks Wood. The 12th century church is built of red sandstone. There is a village pub.
