Bampton

Bampton in mid Devon lies close to the Somerset border, and is on the edge of Exmoor National Park.

The town centre is a conservation area with almost 100 listed buildings. In recent times, Bampton has become famous for its floral displays. The town has won the national Britain in Bloom competition six times!

This little town has an excellent range of local amenities including shops, pubs, restaurants, businesses, and places to stay. It also has quite a history from its early Saxon origins, including a Norman Castle, thriving wool and pony trade and 12th century church.

Every October, the town celebrates the Bampton Charter Fair. This is one of the oldest surviving charter fairs in the UK, with four days of festivities, which bring its history, culture and traditions to life, including a pony sale, street entertainment, arts and craft fair, food fair, cider tent, street market, fun fair and much more.
