Exmoor Forest is the home of some of the best riding in the country with over 400 miles of bridleways to choose from.
A ride on Exmoor can take you over the spectacular heather clad moor, through ancient oak woodlands, along tumbling river valleys or through some of Exmoor's unique farmland. You will get closer to nature and are more likely to see the Exmoor's wildlife when riding on a horse you may catch a glimpse of red deer or Exmoor ponies.
Horses have long been an important part of the local culture, whether used for delivering the post, hacking on the moor, hunting or for work around the farm. Occasionally you will see the farmers checking or moving their sheep from the back of their horse. Today, and throughout the year, you will invariably see people enjoying their riding on Exmoor and you will also find a selection of horse shows and events.
