Exmoor Ponies are an animal to cherish: the worldwide population is now around 1,400, making the Exmoor Pony rarer than the giant panda. The Moorland Mousie Trust is helping numbers to grow by taking surplus foals and eventually finding permanent or foster homes for them, or sending them to environmental grazing schemes until they are old enough to be ridden.
Exmoor Pony Centre offers a half day Exmoor Exmoor Experience which includes a two hour ride on nearby Winsford Hill and costs £35 per person and Taster Sessions for the less adventurous costing £20 for two people, £30 for three and £40 for four people.
Visitors to the Centre can learn about the ponies history and those not wanting to ride can just go along and see our rarest native breed.
