Rowing on Wimbleball Lake
A world class performance in rowing has been described by a famous athletics coach to be as difficult as "getting eight guys to run a four minute mile in step."
But rowing is also about people who enjoy at one level or another simply messing about in boats and Exmoor is fortunate to be blessed with the most spectacular coastline as well as the stunning Wimbleball Lake.
There are three active rowing clubs in the area with Minehead Watersports Centre and Watchet Sea Rowing Club covering the coast and Wimbleball Rowing Club operating from the lake.
If you just fancy a casual row around the lake you can hire a traditional wooden rowing boat from the watersports centre by the hour and even try your hand a fly fishing at the same time if you like!
For the more serious rower racing boats are also available.
