Minehead Beach

Minehead has a sweeping sandy beach with small areas of pebbles and shingle.

The bay sweeps round from Minehead Golf Course in the east, to the picturesque old harbour in the west; the high harbour wall protects the small boats sheltering here and it's an ideal place to sit and take in the view.

The Bristol Channel has the second highest tidal Ideal for swimming, paddling, building sand castles, playing games, kite flying - take your pick!

Dogs are only allowed on the main swimming beach between October and April - see our ideas on the website for dog walking outside these times minehead-dogs-welcome

A promenade and sea wall follows the full length of the beach, ideal for a stroll; the many benches offer opportunities to rest a while and take in the view across the Bristol Channel to Wales, up to North Hill or across to Dunster.
