Wiveliscombe has something of a reputation to live up to. This small Somerset town once played host to 28 town pubs. For a population of just over 2,500 people, no wonder the locals shortened its name to Wivey! Once home to the famous Hancocks Brewery the town has a historic brewing heritage. Today there are still two traditional, if somewhat smaller breweries in the town; Exmoor Ales and the Cotleigh Brewery. Together with the nearby Quantock Brewery, these outstanding local producers have won many regional and national awards with their carefully crafted high quality ales. Bottoms up!
